Fearless and pragmatic Bostonian detective Emily Meyer is drawn into a murder investigation that challenges her realistic world view, forcing her to co-operate with a psychic and seek some answers in the supernatural plane. During her research, she visits a variety of places, among which the police station (her workplace), a victim's apartment, a hotel, the building of judicial archives, a psychiatric hospital, a suspect's house, an old clinic. Where, of course, she has to stumble upon quite a few more or less miserable-looking houseplants. There is even a barely discernible potted plant in a black and white photo from a courtroom, in the files of the murderer's trial. (Mar Lox/afterdarkmysweet)
